How It Works
This operation is registered as Ontario corporation #1001270145 under the name
Efe Yapar, operating as Best Ontario Appliances Repair, registered
in Kleinberg (Vaughan). It runs under multiple business names — all tied to the same
phone numbers and the same face.
Other customers on Yelp and HomeStars
have reported identical experiences, including losses significantly larger than mine.
This is a deliberate pattern, not a one-off. His profiles are also littered with fake 5-star reviews designed to bury the legitimate complaints and lure new victims.
The Playbook
- Spin up a new corporation every year to avoid a paper trail
- Post ads on Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji using fake profiles
- Ads list 437-556-5144 (Fido — used in ads only)
- You get a response from "Ali" — real name Efe Yapar — at 437-873-0101 (Rogers)
- He diagnoses the problem and quotes a repair fee, demanding half the payment in cash upfront
- You never hear from him again
- He strings victims along for weeks: "part is ordered," "part is coming tomorrow"
- Eventually ghosts. If pushed, claims his "car broke down"
- When confronted directly, he offers a refund — but never follows through. The "refund" is a stalling tactic to buy time and make you drop your guard
- If you press further, he flips the narrative entirely — claiming "you denied the refund" and that it was your choice not to accept it, reversing all blame onto the victim
The Facebook Marketplace and Kijiji listings are posted through fake profiles.
He also maintains an Instagram page
and a second Instagram account
(he has blocked those who have called him out). If you can access the pages, post your
comments directly on his posts so others are warned.
